What Can Allies Do to Support and Protect?

Share Know Your Rights materials with students and families. You can find a list of resources here.

Help families navigate school systems. Offer to attend school meetings with parents who may need support or language interpretation.

Report ICE activity or rights violations. If you see something concerning, document it (safely) and share it with trusted organizations. You can submit a complaint or incident report here.

Host a training in your community. Invite EJA to lead a Know Your Rights session or a workshop on school safety and advocacy strategies.

Support language justice. Email your local school board or principal asking what language access policies they have in place. Need a template? Click here to download one.

Allies can — and should — film ICE if they witness someone being detained. Documenting these encounters is legal in most public spaces and can provide critical evidence. Learn more about your right to record immigration enforcement here. Encuentre este recurso en español aquí.

Even small actions can make a BIG impact when done consistently and in partnership with affected communities.
