Launch of Youth Power Fellowship
Launch of Youth Power Fellowship

We are excited to share the launch of our Youth Power Fellowship  2023-2024 cohort. We have 14 amazing youth who attend Wake County Public Schools middle and high  schools.  The Youth Power Fellowship is a program where middle and high school students will gain leadership skills, build relationships, and have the chance to make a real difference in their education.

The fellowship is broken into 2 sessions per month and will run from October 2023 – May 2024. During these sessions, they will learn how to organize to speak up for themselves and other students to effect change in the public school system. They will also learn about different community organizing methods and how to use them to hold decision-makers accountable.

The fellowship will give students the opportunity to lead, think critically about the world around them, and use their voice to make a difference. There will be opportunities to participate in field trips, workshops, and other activities that will help them learn and grow.

The fellowship is youth-led, which means it is run with and for young people. This means that young people will have a voice in what they learn and how they learn it.
