Too Young To Suspend
Too Young to Suspend is a statewide campaign led by the Education Justice Alliance to end suspension and expulsion for children in early childhood through 2nd grade, where exclusionary discipline is developmentally inappropriate and harmful. The campaign works to keep young children in classrooms by advancing policies, shifting practices, and supporting educators and families with tools that prioritize care, support, and inclusion.
EveryChild NC
Fighting for funding in Education: EveryChild NC is a state-wide coalition of organizations across the state dedicated to advocating for equitable funding for all students. Our work focuses on promoting equity so that race, ethnicity, economic background, regional location, disability, gender identity and sexual orientation, immigration status, and language are not barriers to educational opportunity.
H.E.A.L. Together NC
Our aim is to equip parents with effective tools to support their children’s education. Parents learn about the history of education, how to stand up for child’s rights in the school system, and how to make real changes in our community.
Our focus includes discussions on unfair discipline practices, the changing landscape of public education, and better ways to advocate and support Black & Brown students, LGBTQ+ student, & students with disabilities. Together, we will examine the policies that are negatively impacting our children and work towards fostering meaningful change through collective efforts.
